Denver, CO (HOW Conference) – June 7, 2010 – Finch Paper, a long-time leader in environmental responsibility, is hosting partner conVerd, LLC in Finch exhibit #513 here at the HOW Conference. Finch’s paper products, which were designed and developed in cooperation with conVerd, LLC; are used to manufacture conVerd’s new Enviroboard™ MR substrates. The new product is a greener and more sustainable alternative to traditional foam core. Finch used Enviroboard in the construction of its HOW exhibit.
conVerd has received several prestigious recognitions for its sustainability commitment and technology.
Foam Core Alternative is Recyclable
The Finch exhibit at the HOW Conference is a standing structure printed on Enviroboard and supported by a wood easel-both materials are certified to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council and can be either reused or 100% recycled. EnviroBoard incorporates five plies of a proprietary Finch paper into a multidimensional, rigid and moisture proof composite board.
The board is directly printable by a variety of printing technologies or suitable as a laminating base for offset printed designs. The board is also easy to cut or shape, is compatible with most modern automated cutting systems, and is die cut-able. Several precision cut pieces attached to the Finch display create a 3-D effect, and illustrate the ease in customizing shapes when using the product.
One of the booth’s primary benefits is the fact that it can be recycled when the event ends. All displays created by conVerd are easy to assemble and are very light to ship, diminishing drayage and labor costs. This more economical solution – leaving less of a carbon footprint – is a sensible alternative to traditional booth displays.
Milene Ribas, Marketing/Education Manager at conVerd, says, “We worked with Finch to create an innovative and inspiring booth that was produced using renewable materials made by Finch, while promoting sustainability at the same time.”
“The Enviroboard was a natural choice because it is made from Finch’s own super bright, super smooth paper, which incorporates a proprietary design for conVerd’s end use application,” says Beth Povie, Marketing Communications Manager, Finch Paper.
“Enviroboard is 100% recyclable and very easy to manipulate and install without damaging corners or other parts of the display, as is common with materials used in trade shows, such as foam core boards,” Povie adds.
Taking “green” to a new level
Enviroboard takes the traditional notion of green products to the next level. Unlike many foam boards and corrugated plastic boards, it is recyclable and achieved FSC-certification as well as recyclability certification from the Department of Wood and Paper Science at North Carolina Sate University. This ridged, moisture-resistant board is printable on two sides and is ideally suited for indoor, short-term outdoor, and Point of Purchase applications.
With an emphasis on recyclable, conVerd’s Enviroboard is a genuinely green product for the large format digital printing industry. “Our mantra at conVerd is renew, reuse, sustain,” says company Vice President, Sustainable Products, Paul Paulette. “The solution starts and ends with paper products – recyclable paper products. Our mission and Finch’s mission of being environmentally responsible – in addition to producing beautiful, high-quality products – align perfectly, and we are thrilled to be constructing this display for them.”
