Berlin, August 28th, 2009 - callas software is happy to announce that its proven PDF tools for print production and long-term archiving support “Snow Leopard”, the new operating system from Apple. With a large user community on the Mac, callas has yet again shown its commitment to providing its customers with the best and fastest possible support for new host applications and operating systems.

On August 28th, 2009, the new Mac operating system – Mac OS X 10.6, called “Snow Leopard” – became available worldwide. Snow Leopard introduces a vast speed increase, improved stability and new functions and improvements that all callas software users can now benefit from. Extensive series of tests at callas software in the last few weeks showed that both the “pdfToolbox” product line for Publishing and Print Production as well as the “pdfaPilot” product line for Archiving and Document Exchange further improve their speed, stability and versatility under Snow Leopard.

callas pdfToolbox – a visual inspection and automatic correction tool – allows you to quickly prepare files for any intended output.

For fully automated batch processing, there’s callas pdfToolbox Server – a server product that uses the same robust PDF preflighting technology found in Adobe® Acrobat® but allows you to batch process your files.

(Berlin, Germany) axaio software, developer of solutions for PDF creation, printing and content correction workflows for Adobe InDesign and QuarkXpress environments, announces the availability of the latest version of its MadeToPrint line of products. This version adds the ability to output fully imposed PDFs to its feature set.

MadeToPrint standardizes output of InDesign or Quark documents.
axaio’s MadeToPrint standardizes output of InDesign or Quark documents. Many times files need to be sent to different locations, with different file requirements, or one file can contain multiple language versions. MadeToPrint allows saving all these settings in one simple PrintJob for consistent, hassle-free output. MadeToPrint also permits full file-naming control, offering the user the ability to define the name on a set of variables such as Time, Machine Name, Language version, etc.

MadeToPrint product line
axaio’s MadeToPrint product line consists of MadeToPrint Standard, MadeToPrint Auto and MadeToPrint Server; adding with each a level of automation and resilience. The Auto and Server versions integrate seamlessly into publishing systems like vjoon’s K4 or WoodWing’s Smart Connection Enterprise and Enfocus’ Switch automation platform.

Imposition technology from sister company callas
While axaio already had the capability of creating single page output from a multi-page document for easier imposition, it now adds the ability to impose anything from simple booklets to full-fledged brochures and books. The technology comes from axaio’s sister company callas, and is used in callas pdfToolbox and pdfToolbox Server. It is a powerful yet very easy imposition engine that does not require expert operation. MadeToPrint is already very popular with big publishing houses around the globe; now, this feature combined with all of axaio’s other output functionality, opens MadeToPrint up for digital and conventional printers.

axaio’s MadeToPrint PrintJobs can now also be exported and imported for easier exchange of output setting among users or towards customers.

The updated MadeToPrint product-line is immediately available.

MadeToPrint Standard sells at €349, MadeToPrint Auto is available from €2490 and MadeToPrint Sever from €5490.

Karina Zander, Sales & Marketing Manager
Karina Zander started her career in Munich, where she worked in the field of PR/Marketing in the electronic software market. Relocating to Berlin, she entered a new career path, from the electronic industry to the graphic industry. Joining axaio’s sister company callas software as Marketing Manager in 2003, she gained additional experience in press relations, event management and partner support. Now as Sales & Marketing Manager, Zander’s is responsible for strengthening axaio’s market position and increasing brand awareness.  She is also responsible for international customer and partner relations.

In her new function, Zander will replace Achim Kuhlmann, who left axaio for personal reasons beginning of this month.

René Treuber, Product Manager
René Treuber is now  in charge of axaio’s product development, quality control and documentation.

He has been at axaio right from the start of the company in 2006. Treuber holds in-depth knowledge and experience in prepress software, which he gained at callas software working in the domain of software development, quality assurance and support for six years.
