<p><strong>Orlando, FL – June 23, 2010 – The annual Graphics of the Americas (GOA) Call for Speakers has been well received and space is filling up quickly. Interested speakers and those wishing to submit session content ideas for next year’s show have until July 31, 2010. GOA 2011 is being held in Orlando, Florida, on February 24-26, 2011 at the Orange County Convention Center.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span id="more-1629"></span></strong>Renowned for its world-class educational sessions in both English and Spanish, GOA 2011 reaches out to industry professionals and executives for feedback and speaker submissions in order to build the most relevant, current and sought-after educational tracks to offer attendees and exhibitors.</p>
<p>George Ryan, GOA President, says, “We’re excited to be receiving so many insightful speaker bios and proposals. There is still space for plenty of talent and we encourage those who wish to participate in the show to submit their qualifications and ideas. These proposals are key to GOA’s success, as they drive the overall direction of our top-notch educational sessions.”</p>

<p><strong>Looking for industry talent</strong><br />
GOA is searching for both veteran and newer speakers alike, as long as candidates possess comprehensive technical training, intriguing insight, and industry-relevant material to share with peers. If you are looking to discuss success stories, captivating case studies, etc., please submit your information to us to become part of GOA history as a session leader.</p>
<p>Speakers have represented every facet of the industry; including designers, brand owners, print buyers, prepress specialists, printers, marketers and business strategists.  GOA aims to focus session content that helps navigate conference attendees through the current state of the industry; and seeks those who can offer innovative new strategies, tips, techniques, and best practices that speak to emerging markets, cultivation of new prospects, customer retention, and many other hot topics.</p>
<p>Proposals may be inspirational, practical, or both; and should derive from the speaker’s first-hand knowledge and experience. All proposals are subject to review and are selected based on relevance. Presentations of a commercial nature, or promoting a particular product or platform, will not be considered.</p>
<p><strong>Sessions in Spanish requested<br />
</strong>GOA is pleased to offer seminars presented in Spanish for the third consecutive year.<strong> </strong>As 40% of GOA attendees come from Latin American countries, GOA is also seeking exciting speakers and suggested content for sessions in Spanish.<em> </em><strong> </strong></p>

</strong>GOA invites all suggestions for seminar topics and speakers submissions. Please email submissions containing the following required information, by July 31, 2010:<strong> </strong></p>

June 7, 2010 &#8212; Special to the HOW CONFERENCE &#8212; The Internet can “lose” the 5,170,000 files Google returns on a search for “Preparing Files for Print”, because Enfocus has automated that preparation for everyone with the release of new PitStop Connect.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span id="more-1602"></span>From the developers of the world’s most popular PDF correction and preparation tool, PitStop, comes a solution that will give creative professionals hundreds – maybe thousands – of hours back in their lives when they start using free PitStop Connect “Connectors”. The Connectors automatically prepare files for output, according to print or display specifications. Designers just drop their files on the Connector and they are done. The files are fixed using the power of PitStop – but designers don’t pay for it, <em>or</em> do the work.</p>
<p>Gone are missing fonts and low-res images. Plus, production partners’ custom specifications are added and also automatically applied. And then the Connector sends the file to production.</p>
<p>“It&#8217;s like having an assistant skilled in PDF, checking, fixing, and sending your files, but at no cost,” says industry guru David Blatner. “What are designers going to do with all that extra time?”</p>
<p><strong>The Real Deal on PitStop Connect </strong><br />
PitStop Connect bridges the gap between creative professionals and printers/publishers with a free droplet, called a Connector, that automatically preflights and delivers files according to print or display specifications.</p>
<p>PitStop Connect is insurance that the files designers create will reproduce properly, thereby eliminating time-consuming, frustrating, phone calls and returns for changes.</p>
<p><strong>Bridging the Gap Between Two Worlds</strong><br />
Despite the fact that PDF has become the dominant file format for graphic design and printing, roughly 25% of PDF files still fail preflight.</p>
<p>Even if designers have developed PDF expertise, it is difficult to consistently create production-quality PDFs because systems, software, substrates and applications are so varied and dynamic. Settings are not easy to find and installation can be complicated.  The few solutions available to help creative professionals generate perfect PDFs have proven to be too expensive or too complex.</p>
<p>By using PitStop Connect, printers and publishers can set specifications in a free “Connector” that automatically and transparently prepares files according to those parameters.</p>
<p>Regular partners are not the only ones who will appreciate the use of Connectors. Now creative professionals can supply quality jobs, with confidence, to new or less-frequent clients –and increasing the odds that they will want to work with them more!</p>
<p><strong>Easy to Set-Up &amp; Use</strong><br />
A simple interface allows printers/publishers to create Connectors for their creative partner suppliers. The Connector contains settings like Preflight Profile, Actions Lists and delivery specifications.</p>
<p>Delivery settings define whether the preflighted PDF file should be sent to the printer or publisher’s FTP server, or directly to Enfocus Switch. Printers and publishers may also brand the Connector icon itself with their own logo, a company background, or URL.</p>
<p>Printers/publishers only pay for PitStop Connect once, but it allows them to create an unlimited number of different Connectors, which can be distributed to all of their design and creative partners. There are no extra costs for the numbers of Connectors created, or the number of suppliers they distribute the Connectors to.</p>
<p>The Connectors can be posted on the printer/publisher partner website, where designers download and use them free of charge.</p>
<p><strong>Perfect PDFs, Tailored to Customers’ Needs</strong><br />
The printer/publisher partner will define PitStop Connect’s preflight and correction process using a standard GWG profile, or using their own specifications expressed via an Enfocus Preflight Profile and/or Action List.</p>
<p>In case of errors, designers receive a preflight report identifying problems that they can still solve on their side. Depending on the printer/publisher partner’s settings, they can allow creators to send <em>Certified Not Ok</em> files, or allow the creators to sign-off on errors and still allow a file that failed preflight to be delivered.</p>
<p>When delivering directly to Switch, it is also possible that the designer will be asked to supply additional information before sending the file. This metadata can be used to automate processes directly in Switch (e.g.  preflight, impose or archive depending on the metadata delivered with the PDF file).</p>
<p><strong>Easy file delivery</strong><br />
Design partners only need to put the Connector on their desktop and literally start to “drop” files on it. There is no installation or set-up needed. The Connector automatically does the rest: checking, fixing, making the file comply with customer specs, and then sending it to their partner’s FTP or to Switch.</p>

<p><strong>Foam Core Alternative is Recyclable</strong><br />
The Finch exhibit at the HOW Conference is a standing structure printed on Enviroboard and supported by a wood easel-both materials are certified to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council and can be either reused or 100% recycled. EnviroBoard incorporates five plies of a proprietary Finch paper into a multidimensional, rigid and moisture proof composite board.</p>
<p>The board is directly printable by a variety of printing technologies or suitable as a laminating base for offset printed designs.  The board is also easy to cut or shape, is compatible with most modern automated cutting systems, and is die cut-able.  Several precision cut pieces attached to the Finch display create a 3-D effect, and illustrate the ease in customizing shapes when using the product.</p>
<p>One of the booth&#8217;s primary benefits is the fact that it can be recycled when the event ends. All displays created by conVerd are easy to assemble and are very light to ship, diminishing drayage and labor costs. This more economical solution &#8211; leaving less of a carbon footprint &#8211; is a sensible alternative to traditional booth displays.</p>

Finch’s 100% recyclable booth – created using conVerd’s Enviroboard</strong>™ <strong>substrate and manufactured with Finch paper – will be a lively scene as designers learn about the company’s newest products, as well as take home a variety of swatchbooks, educational guides, and more.  Finch will also host a live MacBook Pro drawing at the booth on June 7, to declare the winner of the <em>Finch is in the House</em> promotion.</strong></p>

</strong>Finch’s popular <em>Finch is in the House</em> contest, where creative professionals who submitted 10 samples of projects produced using Finch Paper were entered into a drawing to win a MacBook Pro, was held over the last two months. Submissions are being showcased on a rotating basis in the new <em>Finch is in the House </em>design blog.</p>
<p>Finch will host a live drawing at the HOW Conference to award a MacBook Pro to one of the many companies that participated in the contest. HOW’s very own Elayne Recupero will conduct the drawing at Finch booth #513 in the Resource Center on June 7 at 5:30 p.m.</p>
<p>The second out of three contests for the year begins on June 7. Submissions are again being accepted for this next phase of the <em>Finch is in the House</em> promotion, where designers will have the chance to win an Adirondack retreat for a creative team of up to 6 people at the Finch Boreas Lodge from September 17-20, 2010. <p><strong>Orlando, FL – May 26, 2010 – The Printing Association of Florida, producer of the annual G</strong><strong>raphics of the Americas (GOA) Expo &amp; Conference, is accepting speaker submissions now through July 31, 2010 for next year’s event. GOA 2011 is being held in Orlando, Florida, on February 24-26, 2011 at the Orange County Convention Center (North Hall).</strong><br />

<p>Renowned for its world-class educational sessions in both English and Spanish, GOA 2011 reaches out to industry professionals and executives for feedback and speaker submissions in order to build the most relevant, current and sought-after educational tracks to offer attendees and exhibitors.<strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Are you the industry’s next best speaker?</strong></p>
<p>GOA is looking for both veteran and newer speakers alike, as long as candidates possess comprehensive technical training, intriguing insight, and industry-relevant material to share with peers. If you are looking to discuss success stories, captivating case studies, etc. &#8211; we want you!</p>
<p>Speakers have represented every facet of the industry; including designers, brand owners, print buyers, prepress specialists, printers, marketers and business strategists.  GOA aims to focus session content that helps navigate conference attendees through the current state of the industry; and seeks those who can offer innovative new strategies, tips, techniques, and best practices that speak to emerging markets, cultivation of new prospects, customer retention, and many other hot topics.</p>
<p>Proposals may be inspirational, practical, or both; and should derive from the speaker’s first-hand knowledge and experience. All proposals are subject to review and are selected based on relevance. Presentations of a commercial nature, or promoting a particular product or platform, will not be considered.</p>

<p>The major website facelift comes on the heels of the company’s recent debut of the new <em>Finch is in the House</em> blog, an inspirational forum built to educate and entertain those interested in learning more about the countless attributes of uncoated paper.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Time is money</strong></p>
<p>Too many corporate websites overwhelm designers with cumbersome animation or poor flow.  The new Finch site interface was engineered for a smoother, cost- and time-efficient experience, whether design professionals are doing research or simply ordering the newest promotional guides.</p>
<p>Beth Povie, Finch Paper Marketing Communications Manager, says, “Print buyers and designers need thorough information to be delivered as rapidly and comprehensively as possible. Today the Finch website will do just that.”</p>
<p><strong>Highlights</strong></p>
<p>The new Finch Paper landing page spotlights a rotating feature box, where visitors will find the latest Finch news, promotions and product offerings – quickly. Also located on the main page are the Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube buttons, where designers can link directly to Finch in the social media atmosphere.</p>
<p>Another highlight of the landing page is the addition of the Mobile Stock Guide. This tool allows print buyers and designers needing to spec paper while on the road to do so at the touch of a button – literally. This new 2.0 site saves a great deal of time and offers 24/7 functionality.</p>
<p>The most-visited section of the Finch site details the different paper type and size. These pages now feature more concise copy, helpful “at-a-glance” overviews and usage recommendations, product benefits, specifications, and large icons at the bottom of each page. Visitors can here order samples, view product charts, and access the educational guides such as the Finch green product guide – all at the touch of a button. Downloadable fact sheets for each product line are also available.</p>
<p>A frequently visited site area addressed in the re-haul is the <em>Finch Paper Stock Guide</em>. A beautiful pop-out box features customizable search options that allow designers to search on based on paper grades, shades, basis weights, sizes and weights per 1000 sheets. The Stock Guide results are also printable for easy reference.</p>
